Fitz Nonprofit Consulting is comprised of a team of nonprofit professionals with backgrounds working in higher education & independent schools, healthcare, arts & culture, environment & animals, social services, housing, international causes and philanthropy.
Renee Herrell Fitzgerald, President, M.A., CFRE
Ms. Fitzgerald founded Fitz Nonprofit Consulting in 2004 and built a strong philanthropic consulting team to serve nonprofit organizations on the West Coast and in the Mountain Regions.
Ms. Fitzgerald has consulted for more than 50 nonprofit organizations and conducted multiple capital campaigns that have raised over $500 million. Her experience and savvy strategies empowers clients to achieve - and exceed - their fundraising goals. She is adept at translating organization needs into clear, actionable and successful projects.
Ms. Fitzgerald holds a Masters in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego and a Certificate in Fundraising and Development from University of California, San Diego. She is very active in the philanthropic community in San Diego and is a current member of the San Diego Women’s Foundation, University of San Diego Alumni Board and Women Give San Diego.
Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Ms. Fitzgerald loves to run on the beach, cross-country ski in the mountains, spend time with her family, travel the world, and host neighborhood BBQs.

Christina Todosow, Of Counsel, M.P.A.
Ms. Todosow is a fundraising practitioner who has served ‘Of Counsel’ for Fitz Nonprofit Consulting since 2017. Currently, she is the Director of Donor Stewardship for a large healthcare provider in San Diego where she is responsible for implementing donor relations and stewardship strategies as well as serving on the leadership team responsible for launching the Hospital’s upcoming multi-million dollar comprehensive campaign.
Prior to the Hospital, she served as the Director of Development for Individual Gifts at the San Diego Opera, and as the Associate Director of Development for San Diego State University in the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts, and as the Senior Special Events Coordinator at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Ms. Todosow resides in Coronado with her son and husband who is an officer in the United States Navy. She is passionate about classical music and the arts.

Shannon Stubblefield, Of Counsel, M.A.
Ms. Stubblefield is a fundraising practitioner who has served ‘Of Counsel’ for Fitz Nonprofit Consulting since 2018. Currently, she is the Executive Director of Philanthropy at North County Lifeline. Previously, she raised private dollars through national partnerships and with local leaders in positions with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, The Robert T. McCormick Foundation and 2-1-1 San Diego.
As an active member of the community, Shannon is on the Board of Directors for the North County Philanthropy Council. She has taught fundraising as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego and is currently with North Park University.

Leigh Ratcliffe, Writer and Editor
Leigh is a Technical Writer with over 9 years of experience. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Biology, she took a year off to travel and teach SCUBA, then worked for several biotech companies in Southern California. When she wanted a more flexible schedule, Leigh turned back to one of her first loves, writing.
Leigh resides in Encinitas with her two children and husband who is a Fire Captain in Orange County. She loves to read, go to the movies, and catch up with friends. She is also a dancer for H2O, a contemporary dance company.

Meghan Petyak, Fundraising & Donor Prospect Researcher
Ms. Petyak has nearly a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector. A member of the Fitz Team since 2017, she began her nonprofit career in fundraising research at the MET and went on to lead the prospect and donor research operations for The Santa Fe Opera and Harlem Children’s Zone.
Ms. Petyak studied English Literature and Journalism at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Skiing, running, table tennis, racquetball, crossword puzzles and water sports are just a few of the activities she enjoys in her free time. Born and raised in Lake Oswego, Oregon, she currently resides in East Quogue, New York with her husband and their much-loved Maltipoo dog.

Amy Bean, Of Counsel
Ms. Bean is a fundraising practitioner who serves “Of Counsel” to Fitz Nonprofit Consulting. Amy has held development and leadership positions in the nonprofit sector for over 15 years.
Prior to starting her practice, she served as Director of Major Gifts for Genesys Works. In her role, Amy supported a total annual income of $26 million, was the architect and steward for major multi-tiered corporate partnerships and led fundraising efforts for the implementation and expansion of the organization’s Bay Area and national programs. She has also played key roles in major capital campaigns that have raised over $40 million, planned and executed signature fundraising events, and established advisory boards for multiple organizations including Family House, Inc., HackCancer San Francisco, and JW House.

Claire Erickson, Executive Assistant
Ms. Erickson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Pacific Lutheran University. She has several years of non-profit experience, including campaign management, grassroots fundraising, and program development. She has most recently worked as a program manager for a women’s shelter near Seattle, Washington. Ms. Erickson is passionate about supporting local non-profits and is excited to be part of the Fitz Consulting team.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and hiking in the mountains with her teacup Yorkie named Daisy.
