Strategic Planning

​A strategic plan provides a map for an organization.  It determines short and long-range goals, and where to allocate resources to accomplish its goals. The strategic planning process closely examines the organization’s mission, operations, human resources (Board, staff and volunteers), budget, program effectiveness, community needs, and overall nonprofit compliance.  Through a collaborative process, the Fitz Team will engage the key stakeholders of your organization to gather information that will facilitate the development of the strategic plan. 

We conduct personal and confidential interviews with approximately 40 individuals who have the potential to significantly influence the strategic plan and the future direction of the organization. Based on the responses given during the interviews, The Fitz Team will facilitate an in-person board retreat to develop the strategic plan. Through a facilitated conversation, board and key staff members will determine strategic next steps, goals, objectives, actions, timeline and who is responsible to implement each. The Fitz Team will work with staff and board members before the retreat to prepare documents and set the agenda. After the retreat, the Fitz Team will finalize and write the strategic plan.
